Sport Fishing

Transport included
Pickup at Santa Teresa center, Malpaís, or Playa Hermosa — 8:00am departure, back by 5:00pm. Book the activity and we handle the ride.

Anchor anywhere between Bahía Ballena and Isla Tortuga and send us a list. We run it out by tender — no dinghy trip in, no chandlery hunt of your own.
Send your list
WhatsApp, radio channel, or a standing order if you’re a regular. Diesel, drinking water, propane — whatever’s running low.
We source it
Fuel from the Tambor dock, fresh provisions from the mercado in Paquera, parts from our marine supply contacts around the gulf.
Tender delivery
We run it out to your anchorage and load it aboard directly — same-day if your order’s in before 10am.
Standing accounts
Anchored here for the season? Set a weekly standing order and settle the tab monthly instead of per trip.
Fuel
Diesel and gasoline, run out to your anchorage by jerry can — no bulk fuel tender, just steady trips until you’re topped off.
Provisions & Ice
Fresh market runs to Paquera, block and bagged ice, drinking water by the case.
Marine Parts & Supplies
Impellers, filters, line, and hardware — sourced across the gulf, or flown into Tambor’s airstrip from San José when it’s not.
Crew Essentials
Propane exchange, laundry drop-off in Tambor, and dive tank fills for boats running their own gear.
Who’s running the boats
Local crews who provision by morning, guide by afternoon
The same crew that tenders your fuel out to anchor might be the one running bait before your sport-fishing charter. This is a small operation, on purpose.
Provisioning orders placed before 10am go out same day, most days of the season.
Our captains split their week between tender-provisioning runs and guiding water-sports charters — they know the bay from both sides of it.
Yacht owners anchored here for the season get a running tab and a weekly standing order.

About the bay
Golfo de Nicoya’s calm side
Bahía Ballena sits on the gulf side of the Nicoya Peninsula, in Paquera canton — a short run from Tambor’s beach and airstrip, and a ferry crossing from Puntarenas. The water here stays flat most of the year, which is exactly why it works for provisioning yachts at anchor and for water sports that need calm water instead of a shore break.
Tambor’s private airstrip runs charter flights to and from San José, which we use for fast crew swaps and for flying in parts we can’t source around the gulf.
Santa Teresa and Malpaís, about a 30-minute drive over the hill on the peninsula’s open Pacific side, get the surf. Tambor Bay gets the flat water — and, during migration season, the same humpback pods that gave the bay its name.
